What should I do before activating my alarm system?

Ensure that the telephone number for your monitoring station is posted by your alarm keypad(s).

• Make certain that you and others who will use the security system are fully educated on its proper operation. This may include domestic & cleaning crews, children, neighbors, caretakers, employees and temporary staff.
• Make certain that you have securely closed and locked all protected doors and windows.
• If you are leaving your home or business, make sure the door you use to exit is closed tightly.
• Keep pets, balloons, fans, heaters, etc., away from motion sensor areas.
• Know and rehearse the process to cancel an accidental alarm. Anyone with a key to your home or business should know this process.
• Know how much time you have to exit after you arm your system
• Know how much time you have to disarm your system after you enter.
